Reviewer Guidelines
Manuscripts submitted to Pancasila: Jurnal Keindonesiaan undergo a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers are expected to critically evaluate manuscripts based on their scholarly merit, relevance to Pancasila studies, and contribution to the discourse on Indonesian identity, values, and nationhood.
Before accepting a review assignment, reviewers are kindly requested to consider the following:
Preliminary Considerations
- Expertise Match
Does the manuscript align with your academic expertise, particularly in areas related to Pancasila studies, Indonesian studies, social sciences, humanities, or public policy?
If not, please inform the Editorial Team. - Availability
Reviews are expected to be completed within 2–3 weeks. If additional time is needed, please contact the Editorial Team. - Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest (academic, institutional, or personal) that may affect objectivity. - Plagiarism and Ethical Concerns
Any indication of plagiarism, data fabrication, or ethical misconduct should be reported immediately to the Editorial Team.
Review Criteria
- Title
- Does the title clearly reflect the core issue of Pancasila, Indonesian identity, or related socio-political context?
- Is it specific, concise, and informative?
- Abstract
- Does the abstract accurately summarize the purpose, method, findings, and implications?
- Does it highlight the relevance to Pancasila and Indonesian studies?
- Introduction
- Does the introduction provide a clear background related to Pancasila values or Indonesian context?
- Are research questions or objectives clearly stated?
- Is there a relevant and up-to-date literature review (including Pancasila discourse or Indonesian scholarship)?
- Compliance with Journal Guidelines
- Does the manuscript follow the journal’s template and formatting requirements?
Content Evaluation
- Originality and Novelty
- Does the manuscript offer new insights into Pancasila, Indonesian identity, governance, or socio-cultural issues?
- Scholarly Contribution
- Does it contribute to the development of knowledge in Pancasila studies or Indonesian studies?
- Relevance to Journal Scope
- Is the manuscript aligned with the journal’s focus on Pancasila as ideology, philosophy, and praxis in national and global contexts?
- Theoretical Framework
- Are the theories used relevant and well-integrated (including Pancasila perspectives when applicable)?
Methodology
- Are the research methods clearly explained and appropriate?
- Is the data collection process transparent and valid?
- Does the methodology support the research objectives?
- If new or interdisciplinary approaches are used, are they adequately justified?
Results and Discussion
- Are the findings presented clearly and systematically?
- Does the discussion critically engage with Pancasila values, Indonesian context, or broader theoretical debates?
- Is the analysis logical, coherent, and evidence-based?
Conclusion
- Does the conclusion summarize key findings without repetition?
- Are recommendations provided relevant to policy, society, or academic development of Pancasila?
- Does it reflect the broader implications for Indonesia or global discourse?
Tables and Figures
- Are tables and figures relevant, clearly presented, and properly cited?
- Do they support the argument effectively?
References
- Are all citations listed in the references using APA 7th edition?
- Are references mostly from the last 10 years?
- Composition guideline:
- ≥80% journal articles
- ≤20% books, reports, theses, or other sources
- Are key references on Pancasila and Indonesian studies included?
Writing Style
- Is the manuscript written in clear, academic English?
- Is the argument easy to follow and well-structured?
Final Recommendation
Reviewers must complete the review form and provide one of the following recommendations:
a. Accepted
b. Accepted with Minor Revisions
c. Accepted with Major Revisions
d. Rejected
Reviewers are also required to:
- Provide constructive and specific feedback
- Fill in all required sections in the review form
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout the review process
Reviewer Ethics
Reviewers of Pancasila: Jurnal Keindonesiaan are expected to:
- Uphold academic integrity
- Respect diversity of perspectives within Indonesian and global contexts
- Promote constructive scholarly dialogue rooted in Pancasila values
There are two ways for reviewers to get an account:
- Editor In Chief/Journal Manager registers as a reviewer.
- Register yourself (on the main menu link "Register")
How to register yourself: - On the main menu, click "Register".
- Fill in the registration form, which has an asterisk must be filled in such as: username, password, repeat password, validation, first name, last name, and email.
- Don't forget that you may offer your services as a Reviewer (on the register as line)
- When you're finished, click “Register”.
